Symptoms of
meth addiction
It is never
easy watching a love one suffer form an addiction. Whether it is
drug or alcohol addiction, the idea of an uncontrollable substance
ruining a life is intolerable.

Although some meth addicts' sees it fit or is persuaded by love
ones, to seek help for their addiction, others reluctantly refuse
to believe that they are sick and require treatment.
The symptoms of meth addiction is so horrendous, that it is
impossible to be around someone who is using this drug to such
devastating level that it changes their physical, social and
psychological persona.
Meth use contributes to an increase in heart rate and blood
pressure; poor circulation to the extremities also results due to a
decrease in oxygen content which contributes to skin lesions.
This symptom occurs because neurotransmitters are released into
the blood stream and it acts on the body physiology and cause these
changes.
There are increase risk of psychosis, confusion and violence
when using these drugs. An overdose in Meth can contribute to
stroke by damaging of the vessels in the brain and lung diseases
due to inhaling the drug that affects the tissues of the lungs.
Other symptoms of meth use include decrease in appetite largely
due to the increase in dopamine which suppresses the hunger center
of the brain.
Multiple organ
damage such as muscle, liver and kidney, can occur as a result of
increase body temperature.
Meth users also have classical signs such as meth mouth, skin
rashes and appear to be aging unnaturally.
They may often appear weak and fatigue and an inability to
remember recent activities performed in between dosing.
There are also classical withdrawal symptoms of meth addiction
that includes tiredness, depression; headaches, mood swings and
increase appetite are just the name of few.
Many addicts who decide to take treatment for meth addiction
usually reach the edge where they can no longer tolerate some of
these symptoms associated with methamphetamine.
On many instances, loves ones may have seek treatment for them
because of the signs of deterioration that is so visible.
Nevertheless the decision to accept treatment for addiction is
the only way forward for a meth addict, for without treatment the
long term usage of this drug is catastrophic.
