Phentermine
and methamphetamine belongs to the same family of drug,
amphetamine. Phentermine is an appetite suppressant of the
amphetamine class of drugs.

It works on stimulating the central nervous system and is an
isomer of methamphetamine.
It is approved as an appetite suppressant to aid in the
reduction of weight in obese patients when combined with exercise
and diet.
It is typically prescribed for individuals who are at increased
medical risk because of their weight and works by helping to
release certain chemicals in the brain that control appetite.
Phentermine and methamphetamines can be very addictive.
Phentermine and Methamphetamines share similar side effects.
Some of the common effects are insomnia, sense of well being,
increase heart rate and blood pressure and decrease appetite.
The appetite suppressing effect of phentermine tends to decrease
after a few weeks thus this drug is useful only during the first
few weeks of a weight loss.
Less common
symptoms may include blurred vision, changes in sexual desire and
psychosis.
Like methamphetamine, phentermine when overdosed share some
common symptoms such as confusion, hallucination, over active
reflex, aggressive behavior, to name a few.
