Methamphetamine Names

Methamphetamine is drug that stimulates the central nervous system via release of potent neurotransmitters dopamine and norepinephrine.

These drugs are successfully used for the treatment of attention deficit disorder and obesity when taken at low doses.

At higher doses methamphetamines produce a "rush" sensation.

This drug is highly addictive and when taken at high doses for a period of time can become very dependant.

There are many street names given to methamphetamines, some of the common names are listed below:

* Meth - the shorten form for Methamphetamine
* Crystal Meth - the street name for the crystal form of the drug produced
* Strawberry meth - the pink color methamphetamine produced
* "Ice"  - this is the pure methamphetamine hydrochloride, the smoked form of the drug
* rock, crack, crystal, glass -  denotes the appearance of the drug
* "Speed" describes the rush feeling that it produces.

There are even specific methamphetamine names given to the feeling of intoxification:

* Buzzed
* Fried
* Gakked
* Gassed
* Ampin
* Jacked
* Lit

* Sparkled
* Punt out

Other names associated with methamphetamine are:

* Crank craters - sores of meth users
* Tooter - the straw used to snort the drug
* A paper - this means quarter gram. Usually cost about $25
* Teener - 1/16 ounce of meth
* Caviar - residue that is present in the pipe used to smoke the drug
* Skittles  - the color change of drug
* Meth abuse - wasting the meth e.g. dropping or spilling some on the floor. 
* Point or slammer - the needle use for IV
* Bag whore - users who will do anything to get access to meth
* "Meth mouth" is the very aggressive erosion of teeth enamel, damage gum and teeth cause by the use of meth.
