Family members with meth addiction
No one likes to know that their love
one has an addiction. Moreover no one would like to know that
they have family members with meth addiction.

To watch people waste their lives depending on a toxic drug
such as crystal meth is distressing. What if you are living

In the USA, the use of methamphetamines has been drastically
increasing, more such that now there are cases with more than
one addict to a family household.
Research has shown that there are an alarming number of
people over the age of twelve who has used this drug sometime
in their lifetime.

problem.
In many instances there are siblings within the same home
sharing their craves for this drug and least numerous cases
both parents.
It is very difficult for parents having
to tolerate children with the meth addiction, much less,
children having to tolerate parents with the addiction.
It is reported that only about ten percent of addict become
sober, after taking treatment for their addiction of meth.
If you have family members with meth addiction it is
important that you acquire the knowledge on methamphetamine
addiction and try to help your love one to be within that ten
percent.
Many family and friends attempt to protect their addicted
love ones form consequences of their behavior by covering up
and making excuses to get them out of trouble.
While this may be of good will, it is not helping the
addict. When they face the consequences of their behavior they
are more motivated to get help to deal with their meth
addiction.
Unknowingly, family members award the addiction by assisting
their love ones in ways their addiction causes their short
comes, like paying their bills, providing them with cash and
other needs.
This would only make the addict more comfortable within
their present situation, thus allowing hi being more dependent
on this drug, the lifestyle and on these who are supporting
them.
The support that you need to provide is one of seeking
information on meth addiction and ways of coping and helping
their love ones get better.
If they refuse to seek help, you need not give up. It is
important that they know that you are there for them and you
are ready to assist them in getting the help they need.
With only ten percent of meth users remain sober after
treatment there is still hope that with much needed family
support and guidance this percentage can increase.
