Methamphetamine,
also called meth and ice, is a highly potent central nervous system
stimulant.

It contributes to the release in neurotransmitters such as
dopamine and serotonin which produce a rushing feeling of euphoria
and excitement.
It is associated with increase movement and mood changes.
Methamphetamine a highly addictive drug is also produce on the
street in the form of crystal methamphetamine.
Crystal methamphetamine is a colorless odorless form of
methamphetamine that is mad of highly volatile toxic
substances.
It resembles small fragments of blue- white rocks of various
sizes. Due to its high purity, Crystal methamphetamine produces a
longer lasting intense sensation than the pure methamphetamine.
Crystal methamphetamine is smoked via glass pipes, the same
instrument used to smoke other illegal drugs such as cocaine.
It can also be
melted, and injected into the veins. These two forms produce a long
lasting sensation, can be more than 12 hours, as compared to
cocaine that would only last a few minutes.
It has been reported that quite a few crystal meth users develop
an obsessive compulsive disorder for being clean and tidy.
Some also acquire an intense sexual drive that results in sexual
acts that can last hours, and sometimes days.
The use of crystal methamphetamine can produce a series of
undesirable behavioral patterns such as psychosis and aggressive
behavior.
Other physiological problems associated with crystal meth are
increase blood pressure and heart rate, hyperthermia, convulsion
and death.
Crystal methamphetamine has also been associated with a large
percentage of patients diagnosed with HIV within the past ten
years.
The use of this drug has been vastly on the increase because of
its availability on the streets and the desired sensations that it
produces.
Today it has been move up from a class B drug to a class A and
possession of this illegal drug can cause up to seven years
imprisonment.
