Crystal Meth
Use
Methamphetamine
is a highly addictive central nervous system stimulant that can be
injected, snorted, smoked, or ingested orally.

The immediate effects of meth include increased in activities
and decrease in appetite. Meth has limited medical uses attention
deficit disorders, and obesity.
It can alter mood in depending on how it is taken.
This drug comes in many forms; one of the common form is crystal
meth.
This is a clear glass like crystal form compared to
methamphetamine which is in a powder form. Crystal meth is more
toxic and has longer lasting effects.
When the methamphetamine is smoked or injected user experiences
an intense "rush" that last for only a few minutes and is described
as extremely pleasurable.
Crystal meth use last longer, sometimes for hours, and are
usually more intense. Snorting or when ingesting orally produces
euphoria - a high but not an intense rush.
Snorting and
IV produces effects within three to five minutes Ingesting orally
produces effects within 15 to 20 minutes, which would last longer
but less intense.
The long term effects of crystal meth use are addiction,
depression, anxiety, mood changes, and disorderly behavior.
Crystal meth effects depends on a variety of factors that
include, the age, dosage, body weight, how long the drug has
been taken, the method of administering, and so forth.
Crystal meth effects are similar to that of cocaine, except that
these effects last much longer. The euphoria may last as long as 12
hours as compared to cocaine effects that last only a few
minutes.
Moreover some of the major side effects may last as long as 24
hours after the drug has being administered.
Tolerance to this stimulant can develop with long term use of it;
this means that the user will require a larger dosage of the drug
to achieve the desired effects.
High dose use can result in sadistic behavior, insomnia,
anxiety, weight loss and confusion. Other crystal meth
effects include tachycardia and hypertension, which can lead to
damage of blood vessels in the brain and this resulting in strokes
and eventually death.
With long-term use, psychosis can build up including paranoia,
mood swings, delusion and hallucination.
A major physical feature of Crystal Meth use is Meth mouth and dry
sores.
These addicts have rotting teeth and dry mouth due to decrease
saliva production. The decrease in oxygen circulation to
extremities also results in body sores.
